Swisscanto: Now KIIDs for the Luxembourg funds
17.10.2011
With the KIID (Key Investors Information Document) - known in English as "Essential Investor Information" - investors are intended to be provided with readily comprehensible product information which, after a transitional phase, will apply for all UCITS IV funds and Swiss public funds (securities funds and funds for traditional investments). The introduction goes back to a European initiative; Swiss investment funds will adopt the new information medium successively in the coming years.
Compact basis for the investment decision
In future, within the context of a securities consultation, the client will receive the two-page KIID as compact information for each product which he has recommended to him by his investment adviser. Indeed in Germany, the investment adviser is expressly obliged to hand over the KIID in good time to accompany a recommendation to purchase or before the subscription of fund units.
The KIID contains the following items of information:
- Objectives and investment policy
- Risk and yield profile
- Costs
- Development in value in the past
- Practical pieces of information
